B. Local Storage & Offline Data

The App uses your device's local database storage (via Android Room SQLite) solely for:

• Temporary News Cache: Storing article headlines, summaries, and image URLs to provide fast loading and low bandwidth usage.
• User Bookmarks: Storing articles you manually choose to "Save" (सहेजी गई खबरें) so you can read them offline.

Note: All bookmarked and cached data remains strictly stored on your physical device. It is never uploaded, transferred, or synced to any external server owned by us.

3. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob & Meta Audience Network)

To keep Jharkhand News Point 100% free for all readers, we display advertisements supplied by Google Mobile Ads (Google AdMob) and Meta Audience Network through AdMob mediation.

We strictly ensure that ads are displayed in a clean, non-disruptive manner:

• Banner Advertisements: Displayed at the bottom of the main news feed and the in-app article reader, positioned safely above device navigation bars.
• Interstitial (Full-Screen) Advertisements: Displayed periodically only after every 4th article clicked. Interstitial ads can always be immediately closed via a visible close button. If an ad takes more than 2 seconds to load, it is skipped automatically so you can read your news without delays.

4. RSS Feed Aggregation & Web View Reader

Jharkhand News Point is an RSS feed reader and news aggregator. The App fetches publicly available RSS syndication feeds published by leading Hindi news publishers:

• Dainik Bhaskar: bhaskar.com
• Live Hindustan: livehindustan.com
• Amar Ujala: amarujala.com
• News18 Hindi: hindi.news18.com

When you tap on any news article card, the full original article is opened within an in-app Android WebView, loading directly from the publisher's official server.

Please be aware that when browsing external publisher web pages inside the WebView, the publisher's own web servers may use web cookies, analytic tags, or scripts subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We do not control or access the web data exchanged between your browser and the news publishers.

5. Android Permissions Used

Jharkhand News Point requires only standard, non-sensitive Android permissions:

• android.permission.INTERNET: Essential for downloading the latest RSS news feeds, fetching news article thumbnails, and loading news articles in the reader.
• android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Allows the App to detect whether your device is connected to Wi-Fi, cellular, or offline, enabling offline bookmark fallback notices.

The App does not request permissions for Camera, Microphone, Contacts, Location, SMS, Phone State, or External Storage.

6. Data Retention & User Deletion Rights

Because we do not store any personal user data on external servers, you have full and immediate control over your data:

• Individual Article Deletion: You can un-bookmark any saved news item at any time by tapping the bookmark icon on the article card.
• Complete Data Erasure: You can clear all cached news and saved articles at any time by going to Settings → Apps → Jharkhand News Point → Storage → Clear Data, or by uninstalling the application from your device.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR)

Jharkhand News Point is designed for a general audience seeking news updates and is not targeted towards children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can promptly take appropriate actions.

8. Data Security

We value your trust in using our App. All RSS feed queries and in-app web views use standard Secure Sockets Layer / Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) HTTPS encryption to protect data in transit from tampering and eavesdropping.

9. Publisher Disclaimer & Fair Use

Jharkhand News Point does not claim ownership of the news articles, headlines, excerpts, or images displayed via RSS feeds. All intellectual property, trademarks, and copyrights belong to their respective publishers (Dainik Bhaskar, Live Hindustan, Amar Ujala, hindi.news18.com). The App serves solely as a user-friendly technological conduit to read publicly distributed RSS summaries with full attribution and links to the original sources.
